Continuous Process Sealing

The innovative MECO shaft seal is designed specifically for process machinery, where braided compression packing and conventional mechanical seals fail to seal. Equally at home with dry powders, pastes, slurries, gases, vapors and fluids, MECO seals are unaffected by the eccentric rotation typical of mixing machinery, and models are available which permit axial thrust motion, as well.

Mixers, blenders, reactors, cookers, dryers, extruders, rotary valves and screw conveyors can all be effectively sealed, as can grinding and milling equipment. Available with FDA-approved materials, MECO seals eliminate contamination by packing residue in food and pharmaceutical applications. Their cool-running seal faces prevent thermal damage to sensitive process materials, and selected designs can be certified for ATEX service. Numerous installations on drying equipment have drastically reduced process times, due to the MECO seal's effective vacuum containment.

MECO seals perform exceptionally well in abrasive products, and have been proven in applications as diverse as gypsum board compound, granulated sugar, carbon powder, inorganic fertilizers, silica, zeolite and industrial diamonds.
