What is a Cookie

A cookie, also known as an HTTP cookie, web cookie, or browser cookie, is a piece of data stored by a website within a browser, and then subsequently sent back to the same website by the browser. Cookies were designed to be a reliable mechanism for websites to remember things that a browser had done there in the past, which can include having clicked particular buttons, logging in, or having read pages on that site months or years ago.

Why we use them

When we provide services, we want to make them easy, useful and reliable. Where services are delivered on the internet, this sometimes involves placing small amounts of information on your device, for example, your computer or mobile phone. These include small files known as cookies. They cannot be used to identify you personally.

These pieces of information are used to improve services for you.

You can manage these small files and learn more about them from the article, Internet Browser cookies- what they are and how to manage them

Research & Development

Research - where one follows a line of investigation and
Development - where one improves, progress or advances, has always been key within the culture of FTL Technology.

Traditionally Research & Development (R&D) has been seen as the responsibility of universities or departments within companies where the ‘intellect’ of the organisations dwells, working on new ideas and projects within the scope of the desired activity.

At FTL Technology we recognised a long time ago, that we daily, carry out research and development activities in the constant desire to deliver to our customers, the most suitable engineered solution for the problems that they encounter.

The most suitable solution may be drawn from the experience of our team with the knowledge that ‘this worked before’ so changing something slightly should be enough to meet the more demanding situation. However we have the resources available, when simple solutions are not appropriate to research a suitable solution and partner our customer in developing this solution into a working application.

When you look at R & D in this way as opposed to the traditional approach it opens your thoughts to trying something new, in every aspect of our business, truly encouraging a culture of problem solving through engineered solutions.
