Bearing Solutions
Sealing 'know how' teaches us that the life of a sealing element is dependent upon the integrity of the components immediately surrounding the seal. We are able to offer differing types of sliding element bearing products to suit particular extreme applications.
Our range includes:-
- Graphalloy® bushings
- Polyester bushings and plates
- Filled PTFE bushes and bearing band/type
- GLYCODUR® split bushes
- Pocketted bronze bushings
- Polyamide and Polyester bearings
- Sintered bronze bearings
- Turned bronze bearings
Metal backed GLYCODUR® bushes which incorporate a sintered dynamic load bearing surface incorporating PTFE or other polymers on bronze are available in many
standard sizes.
For applications involving lack of lubrication or poor lubrication, elevated temperatures or aggressive chemicals we recommend Graphalloy® bushings. These
graphite, metal impregnated bushings will withstand temperatures up to 400°C and can be supplied with many different metal impregnations to suit a wide
range of industries highlighted in the downloadable brochures below.
Pocketted bronze bushings offer solutions in many applications where lubrication is impractical.
Graphalloy carbon matrix bushes are especially suitable for rotary or
reciprocating applications that involve no lubrication, inaccessibility, high
temperatures and aggressive chemicals. Typical applications are pumps in
refinery and paper applications.
Polyester matrix bearings are usually supplied in split ring form for
reciprocating applications. They can resist higher loads than PTFE, but must be
lubricated.
Filled PTFE bearings can be supplied in either strip or split ring form, and are
commonly used in reciprocating applications, benefitting from low friction.
GLYCODUR® plain wrapped bearings consist of PTFE or POM layered on sintered
bronze with a steel housing. These bearings are commonly found in both
reciprocating and rotating applications.
