Wind Turbine Sealing Solutions

Windkraft GondelFTL Technology offers Engineered Solutions in the fields of sealing and bearing applications for Wind Turbines. Large diameter radial shaft seals are one of our specialities, and we already fit these on site with many heavy duty industrial and marine applications.

Other products within our profile for wind turbines are large diameter sealing profile rings, accumulators and vibration mountings. Vibrations in wind turbines cause more than just increased wear; they can also cause disturbing structure borne noise.

Much of our expertise involves the re-specification of sealing systems where the performance is less than satisfactory, in arduous applications. Many companies can offer alternative seals but few offer an investigation of the problem from first principles and a completely engineered solution.

We take a hands on approach to sealing problems, and offer optimised solutions in areas where leakage had become an accepted inconvenience.

We are ISO 9001 approved and an accredited IiP. All of our sales force are engineers who can both propose and fit our sealing systems.

In the case of wind turbines, where it is necessary to fit replacement seals in split form. We can perform a jointing process “in situ” when carrying out seal replacement. This system is well proven, and can be performed by our engineers. Alternatively maintenance engineers can be instructed on site in best practice on jointing seals.
